it's just what I want in life - coworkers like family, a ship that is a home and journey that is an adventure and a destiny at the same time. Gene Roddenberry made TNG with each episode as a lesson in humanity to remind people what it is like to be human in the highest sense of it. Sadly after his death during season 5 scripts became less smart, as it happens, and actually first few episodes are a lil shaky on their footing, bc creators were really nervous about continuation of the original series of star trek (hence - TOS)... If one can cut it some slack, it's overall amazing. After 30ish years I've watched series named Picard after the main protagonist of the TNG series and its season 3 made me cry happy tears, there is so much love and admiration for each character!
They had it all - strong females, handsome heroes, naive children, death and comedy, deadly enemies, politics, diplomatic wars...
and here is my heart on the sleeve for TNG again, I'm sorry, it's slipping out whenever someone is near saying "star trek"..
