Is it an official spin off? Or rather same aesthetics but different world? I know there are precedents of authors having a go at works of others, but that is not entirely legal thing to do, so I wonder, what's the case here

It's same aesthetics, and Tarmashev isn't hiding the fact. IIRC, in the intro to the first book he's like "my dear fans, you fucking bore me with your requests to write something in STALKER. I don't want to, but you can have this"

That's hilarious xd you read something of his, otherwise that book, right? What he is popular for? You didn't like much, did you?))

The Herald, I read basically everything that Tarmashev had by 2014. Multiple times. I was a teenager, and as I've said, I had zero taste in literature and way too much spare time on my hands. He's at best trashy fun, your run of the mill ex-military writer whose characters are all serious men with some sort of military experience being main characters, and all pretty grrrls swooning over them. And at his worst he's, like, actively propagating that GMO industry will lead destruction of entire world, and that in the post-apocalypse world only brave Russian anti-GMO activists had a plan to restore the planet. Which, among other stuff, includes chemical weapon that turns everything that had been touched by GMO (which is basically everything, 'cept for 0,0001% of humanity) into nutrient goo that would be used to regrow "proper" seeds and animals.

Ugh. I'm having flashbacks now...

My apologies, didn't want to make you reminisce xD how is your morning, except for the flashbacks?))

The Herald, I am lingering around, though I guess I need to get some shuteye
I stayed up all night, to beat up that ironman run. I don't need to go anywhere for the rest of the week, so I can afford that. But, in a way, I learned nothing from doing that, because it turns out, that I struggle with hyperfixation a lot. So I went like "fuck it, the sonner we'll get it done, the sooner we'll get back to living human life"

whataboutchu?

I had something similar few times, for assassin's creed games up till revelations i think, and for the marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy xd i can't stop, if there is free time, i need to devour that storyline regardless of any consequences.

I'm riding to my office, after my dream with bloodshed i warry about touching my envelope knife, just to keep it safe  https://i.postimg.cc/65D7nZF2/0cecc039ca03bb06041e62b5858155c1.gif

I bought it, but it's more for decorum really, though its point is quite sharp
I've tried to open letters with it, but in our organization it's pointless, we apply duct tape on most of them xd
It's Thorin Oakenshield sword (dwarf style). It just warms my heart, when I look at it xd. And I have a little Orcrist back home, swords all around xd

yeah, it's heavy xd It's metal, real dwarvish sword xd but miniversion!
Orcrist is of the same size and in the same box, but it's not painted above metal, it's shiny and very accurately representing an original that was shown in the movies. Sadly I don't have photo of it, it's home

Can you show it later? That would be great!

Why did the Dwarf’s sword be chosen?

well, this one feels as if it's Thorin's native sword. Orcrist is an elvish sword, given by Elrond, so I picked the one that would remind me of "roots". I've used to play him very passionately back in a day hence the pricy merch xd

The Herald, I don’t know yet... a random hobbit. I don’t even know what I want to play, but in online games (Or in the Baldur's Gate...), I always pick small creatures.
